Little noticed among today’s headlines was the signing of a unity agreement between Fatah, the P
Palestinian authority in the West Bank, and Hamas, the terrorist regime in charge of Gaza. This agreement was signed in Cairo, Egypt under the watchful eye of the newly-in-love-with-the-Muslim-Brotherhood Egyptian military junta.
Not surprisingly, an old meddler is in favor of the agreement, the same meddler who threw the Shah of Iran under the bus in 1978…leading to the rapid ascension of Ayatollah Khomeini and radical Islam in Iran. Yes…you guessed it…the bane of intelligent foreign policy and the existence of Israel….former President, Jimmy Carter.
In an op-ed in The Washington Post on Wednesday, Carter similarly praised the deal as a step forward. Never mentioning the fact that Hamas is a terrorist organization, Carter claimed that the deal will enhance Palestinian democracy. It will also increase chances for a cease-fire between Hamas and Israel and peace between Israel and the Palestinians, he promised.
Sadly, the incoherent foreign policies of Barack Obama seem to mirror those of Jimmy Carter, and worse. If that is the case, we will all witness the horror of seeing America’s credibility slide into nothingness and our relevance in the world disappear. The threat against Israel will become palpable. The economy will slide over the brink, and whatever blessing of God remains on the United States of America will be withdrawn. The sum total of Obama’s presidency, even with the supposed victory with the death of bin Laden, will make Jimmy Carter’s presidency look like a minor dip into stupidity.
However, if you are a true follower of Jesus Messiah, yours is a dual citizenship…one in a coming Kingdom that will have no end. Never fear! Jesus is near.
